The Moriones Festival 2016 Schedule
Moriones Festival is an event held every year in Marinduque in time for the Holy Week. It signifies the culture and religion in the Philippines. Moriones Festival is being celebrated in Marinduque by the locals dressed as ancient Roman soldiers. Every day for the whole Moriones Festival, people are engaged into street dancing, and most of the households offer feast.
From Monday to Easter Sunday, the streets are crowded with lively colors that invigorate the locals and the tourists. One of the highlights of the event is to capture a guy dressed as a Roman soldier who speared Jesus Christ. Marinduque is a heart-shaped island, which many believe to be the heart of the Philippines. If you are into fun and adventure, you have to consider going to Marinduque and experience Moriones Festival. This year, Moriones Festival will be held from March 21-27.
